Job description

The InfoSphere Architect leads/manages all aspects of the delivery of Public Sector BAO Solutions and related components, interfaces, conversions, HW/SW oversight (selection/sizing/configuration recommendation and execution) and deliverables.

The InfoSphere Architect understands business challenges and translates them into requirements/solutions. This role provides Solution Performance (analysis/tuning) and works across business/technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition and systems architecture for the organization.

This is a hands-on consulting delivery role throughout the entire lifecycle of a consulting and systems integration engagement. This role also provides support during business development efforts e.g. pre-sales, scoping efforts and proposal development.

The InfoSphere Architect will also review/qualify/integrate business requirements into the solution; determine the different models types needed for a project such as Atomic and Semantic; support/lead in the development of Data Integration architecture and overall Data Integration design of a project; approve the various artifacts; ensure enforcement of standard enterprise data element names, abbreviations, characteristics, and domains during the lifecycle of a project; and approve many of the project deliverables in order to ensure compliance with Architectural Standards.

Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site.

Generally projects and clients are within the Metro area and require very limited travel outside of the local area. However, some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally less than 1 year. Consultants are required to be flexible with their ability to travel and cannot refuse projects due to travel.

Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 3 years experience in data integration from concept to deployment on different platforms; Data Integration Patterns
  • At least 3 years experience in defining Data Integration Architecture (High-level and Detailed-level)
  • At least 3 years experience in design of complex databases, file accessing techniques, search strategies, processing, space utilization efficiencies, database security procedures, backup, program recovery techniques, testing
  • At least 3 years experience in IBM InfoSphere platform experience, including Data Integration Architecture, DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer, InfoSphere Director, and Metadata Workbench.
  • At least 3 years experience in Batch and Real Time data integration for multi-tera byte target database
  • At least 3 years experience in Service Oriented Architecture, Data As A Service and XML Integration
  • At least 3 years experience in normalized and dimensional data models.
  • At least 3 years experience in estimating/planing Data Integration activities for Business Intelligence projects; and leading data integration teams/mentoring junior team members.
  • At least 3 years experience in influencing cross functional team members in a highly matrixed environment without direct reporting authority.
  • At least 3 years experience in explaining complex data integration concepts to non-technical management groups
  • Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • English: Basic knowledge
