GENERAL SUMMARY
Primary point of contact for the successful delivery of clients' clinical programs, including analysis of clinical and financial data. Clinical liaison between key client contacts and Coventry Worker's Compensation Division.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improves quality of service by providing prior-authorization of formulary drugs, developing programs to provide optimal pharmacy care to patients, measuring and documenting improvements in patient care and/or improving clinical processes.
- Collaborates with other medical personnel in developing treatment guidelines and demonstrates the impact of these guidelines. May participate in formulary development and management.
- Monitors prescribing habits of participating physicians. Makes recommendations to physicians to improve medication regimens as appropriate.
- May audit client programs to ensure accurateand clinically appropriate dispensing.
- Validates the clinical availability of multisource products for provider utilization.
- Supports the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee function.
- May develop and maintain a newsletter for provider staff, promoting rational prescribing habits.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Current unrestricted state license required. AZ license preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
- Board certification and residency is preferred.
- Previous (1-3 years) clinical pharmacy experience required. Previous Workers Compensation experience is preferred.
- Strong pharmaceutical product and clinical pharmacy knowledge required.
- Knowledge of clinical program components, formulary designs, and prescription benefit trends.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, Powerpoint is preferred.
- Professional communication skills both written and verbal. Able to conduct client presentations.
- Must be able to travel to client's sites.
