Description
McNeil Consumer Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner II to be based out of Lancaster, PA.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.
The Maintenance Planner II will plan the necessary time, people, and parts in the Lancaster Plant to maintain all manufacturing and packaging equipment and the utilities. Ensures that all manufacturing and packaging assets consistently meet requirements for Reliability, Maintainability, Performance and Compliance. Provides input in developing strategy and departmental business plan and participate in audits and investigations related to maintenance systems and any corrective actions assigned.
The candidate will manage their time to all attend GMP training designated for their role and adhere to strict compliance with applicable procedures and policies. They will exercise the highest level of integrity in the tasks that they perform. In a timely and prompt manner, identify report and seek correction for deviations noted in the workplace. Embrace a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time. Ensure employees under your scope of responsibility are trained in required procedures for the execution of their role and maintain current with training requirements during the year. Promote an environment of employee involvement in the workplace. Seek prompt identification, reporting and correction of deviations in the workplace as noted by employees.
The Planner is responsible for achieving day-to-day process outcome and delivering metrics for the process. Focus on efficiency of process, customer service goals, compliance, cost management and training. Provides maintenance schedule(s). Coordinates with Technical team leaders and employees who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, heating, painting and/or general maintenance. Provides guidance to employees who install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
He/She will coordinate with the SAP Administrator and Spare parts to ensure parts are available as needed and appropriately documented in the CMMS (SAP). Support projects and project teams as appropriate. Coordinates with project managers and project engineers as needed. Thinks analytically to understand a situation or problem - makes metrics based decisions. Partners with peer group to investigate and implement best practices across the business. Identify and prioritize improvement priorities (process, equipment, systems). Proactively seek ways to improve the manufacturing operations through implementation of a continuous improvement methodology. Demonstrate business acumen in all levels of decision-making. Liaise with Production Planning to secure appropriate downtime to complete non-production technical work on the equipment (PM's, CM's, Calibrations, work orders). Organize SAP work orders so that the non-production technical work can be performed in an organized fashion. Liaise with technicians to ensure non-production technical work is completed on time. Ensures process is in compliance with cGMPs.
The candidate will effectively manage owned items on the DCM Dashboard. Participates and on occasion lead investigations and audits associated with maintenance systems and completes corrective actions as assigned. Ensures process is in compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations. Effective case management of incidents while liaising with Safety Manager to conduct safety investigations and initiate safety process improvements. Demands pursuit of stretch goals for self and others and sets example for personal commitment and accountability. Provides timely and honest feedback and coaches and mentors others to achieve their highest potential. Acts as a change agent within the organization and assists with identifying and managing recruitment needs of the department. Liaise with Team Leaders and develop effective methods of communication with the PRT to the associates. Share learning experiences with other teams and other JJ/McNeil sites.
Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma with 10 years manufacturing experience in a cGMP environment coupled with a minimum of 3 years maintenance experience is required OR a Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience in a cGMP environment and 3 years maintenance experience.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Experience in developing and executing tactical project plans is required. A technical knowledge of the supply chain process is required. Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc) is preferred. Prior experience with SAP is a requirement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Project is required.
The candidate must demonstrate leadership and influencing skills in addition to being able to act decisively, set clear priorities and drive action. Technical knowledge of utilities systems, buildings and equipment is required. Additionally the candidate must have good verbal and written skills, and proven analytical ability.
