Will Statement
Will: Will be a member of the Parts Engineering and Reliability Group (5141) within the Electronic Parts Engineering Section (514) and will report to the Group Supervisor.
• Be responsible for the selection, evaluation, and approval of EEE parts.
• Conduct engineering assessments and review EEE parts for reliability related performance.
• Review reliability factors of limited complexity for EEE parts.
• Contribute to scientific experiments or theoretical analysis in determining the physical behavior of EEE parts.
• As directed, investigate corrective action of problems and deficiencies and make recommendations for remedies.
The EPE Section is responsible for many aspects of EEE Parts, including Parts Engineering and Reliability, Radiation Effects, Parts Acquisition, Project Support and Failure Analysis and Test. Some of the responsibilities of the Section include: conducts engineering assessments and reviews all EEE parts for reliability related performance and advises the projects on the part selection that maximizes reliability while considering schedule and cost constraints. Conducts scientific experiments or theoretical analysis to determine the physical behavior of parts in a space like radiation environment. Oversees part procurement to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and maintains part inventories.
• Perform moderately complex job functions and activities within assigned area.
• Works on day-to-day assignments under general supervision; typically receiving general or detailed instructions on new assignments.
• Uses applicable policies, procedures and practices as guides to determine work methods and deliver results.
• Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.
• Actions and decisions may have a positive impact on a functional organization due to suggestions for improvements in methods, use of technology, and/or policies.
• Failure to accomplish results can normally be overcome but may impact schedules, budget and projects.
• As needed, provides work direction to other personnel or part-time students.
• Some use of creativity and innovation.
• Analysis of situation or data requires interpretation of applicable policies, procedures and practices.
• Exercises judgment in applying applicable policies, procedures and practices to new situations to determine appropriate action.
• Interactions normally involve obtaining and providing information as needed.
• Consults with others as needed.
• Some interactions with customers from outside own organization.
• Limited contacts with peers at other organizations outside JPL.
• Interacts primarily with immediate supervisor and team members within own organization.
• Participates on a team within own organization; may participate on a team outside own organization.
