This position will provide legal support for the Bank’s Mortgage Partnership Finance® (MPF®) Program, a secondary market mortgage purchase program.  The incumbent will work closely with our operations department, Bank members and other Federal Home Loan Banks.  Responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating mortgage sale and servicing and vendor agreements, reviewing changes to our MPF Program origination and servicing guides and providing advice on regulatory compliance and other matters relating to the origination and servicing of mortgage loans.  In addition, the attorney in this position will participate in the development and implementation of new secondary market mortgage products and services.

Specifications: Juris Doctor degree and Illinois bar admission (may be under Rule 716), experienced legal practitioner with 3 to 5 years experience and expertise in residential mortgage origination or sales transactions.  Familiarity with Fannie Mae or Ginnie Mae origination and servicing guidelines or with securitization of residential mortgages is desirable.  The applicant must have strong academic credentials.  In addition to outstanding oral and written communication skills, the successful applicant will have excellent negotiating, time management, project management and interpersonal skills along with the drive, commitment and preparedness to collaborate and innovate.
