Unix Systems Engineer
The core shift hours for this position will be:
Monday-Thursday
10:00 pm - 8:30 am Eastern Time
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, assists senior level systems engineers with providing problem resolution within systems engineering. Works on basic to moderately complex support efforts.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists senior level engineers with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of UNIX/Windows hardware operating systems, systems management software, and Storage Area Network hardware and software.

Works closely with clients, vendors, and other technical staff to identify and resolve issues or problems that impact the UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN environment.

Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Entry level for employees with Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous (1-3 years) experience in Unix/Windows systems engineering/administration.
- Knowledge of engineering theories and principles related to the area of assignment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate with clients, other IT staff, and vendors.
