Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
· PhD in Statistics with extensive training in one of the Plant Sciences (Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Soil Science, etc.) or PhD in Plant Sciences with extensive training in Statistics.
· Experience with analysis of genotype by environment interaction via application of relevant statistical methodologies, e.g., factorial regression, partial least squares, principal components, additive main effects and multiplicative interaction models, clustering, etc.
· Strong understanding of the relationship between crop performance and environment.
· Experience with utilizing and modeling environmental data, including soils and weather data, especially for understanding genotypic interactions with environment.
· Expertise in Mixed Models and Experimental Design.
· Expertise in statistical programming (SAS, R, or MATLAB).
· Experience with access and manipulation of data from relational databases and spreadsheets (ACCESS, EXCEL, ORACLE).
· Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
· Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a cross-functional setting.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills/Experience:
· Experience with three-mode principal components analysis.
· Experience with spatial statistical methodologies.
· Experience with Geographic Information Systems.
