This position supervises & monitors one or more of the following activities, continuing medical education, quality assurance, medical staff services & quality projects.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises the daily quality activities, ensuring timely & accurate data collection, and follow up of issues & quality of work
- Coaches staff & ensures their competency
- Coordinates & facilitates staff support to various committees (e.g., quality, accreditation) which includes agenda preparation & monitoring of outstanding issues
- Provides reports based on timely & accurate data collection, identifies trends & monitors issues
- Develops implements & monitors quality department's policies & procedures; ensures they are in compliance w/ The Joint Commission, NCQA, CME, federal, state & local requirements
- Assists in developing & revising QA monitors to meet accreditation/regulatory standards
- Monitors the budgets, researches variances, & identifies opportunities to reduce costs
- Develops, implements, coordinates, & evaluates the CME programs, credentialing & privileges for permanent or temporary physicians & allied health providers
- Assists in preparation of educational materials & course objectives
- Maintains link between medical staff affairs & quality improvement, risk management, and continuing medical staff education
- Coordinates & prepares for CME, accreditation, licensing, & quality surveys/audits
- Maintains & monitors the various quality databases which may include quality reviews, CME, credentials & privileges, & provider profiles
Secondary Functions:
- This is a TPMG (outpatient) position that will support the startup and oeprations of the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
- The position will initially report to the Associate Medical Group Administrator until management structure is established.
- Successful candidate will coordinate and support multiple key committees which includes preparing agendas, taking minutes, sending meeting notices, ordering food, tracking attendance, preparing reports and presentations, and tracking action items.
- Also includes organizing files/documents for audit, assisting with regulatory reviews,coordinating external events, maintaining calendar and providing general management support.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Significant (typically 2-3 yrs) quality improvement or accreditation experience required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a health care related field or business administration
- Previous supervisory experience recommended
- Ability to perform statistical analysis
- Current knowledge of The Joint Commission, NCQA, federal, state, & local requirements
- Knowledge & experience in application of adult learning theory in program development
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and experience with databases and web maintenance.
