GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for sourcing and evaluation of suppliers to ensure availability of material, coordination of the bid invitation and tracking process, reporting and communicating procurement activity, and expediting purchases. Serves as liaison between the vendor and customer.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates all aspects of bid invitations to include the preparation and dissemination of the request for quotation, tracking of responses and compliance to established rules and regulations.
- Maintains, updates and distributes activity reports such as inventory valuation reports, invoice allocation report, and category of print reports. Compiles regular and special reports.
- May provide technical assistance and training to customers in the development of product specifications and/or business process re-engineering.
- Assists in the preparation, distribution and filing of purchase orders.
- Receives requisitions and reviews for completeness and necessary information.
- Performs liaison activities with the customer and vendor.
- Formulates new and revised reporting methods and makes recommendations to Purchasing on the modification of print purchasing procedures.
- Provides assistance to purchasing staff and performs related work as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience (usually 3-5 years) in purchasing related products and services.
- Experience in MS Word and MS Excel at intermediate level.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of standard procurement and recording practices.
- Familiarity with all aspects of printing/graphics.
- Experience in Accounting and/or Inventory Management.
