Position Description: The Customer Development Manager/Combo position is responsible for the management of assigned accounts in the Business Unit (BU), and for the development of profitable new customer business within the territory. This position has minimal supervision.


Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree with course work in Business and or Marketing or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 (two) years Sales experience
  • Additional Requirements: Demonstrated a consecutive sales excellence (quota achievement) within prior sales responsibilities; be skillful at problem solving; excellent communication skills; cold calling skills and the ability to find new business, as well as grow existing business; the ability to learn financial concepts; and succeed with minimal supervision.

    Responsibilities: Specifically the Customer Development Manager/Combo will be held accountable for the following:

  • The education/development of customer interest in additional Ryder services (including: Full Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Fleet Management Services and Dedicated Contract Carriage) by utilizing the Ryder Sales Process.
  • Development of sales plans
  • Will have to analyze profitability of accounts
  • Obtaining full knowledge of the competitive influences and risks within each account.
  • Must be able to find new business and grow existing business.
  • Will also be responsible for prospecting new business, making cold and warm sales calls to potential clients and developing rapport.
  • Meet lease and retention quotas
