Vistakon Ireland is located in Limerick and produces the Acuvue range of contact lenses which is the leading contact lens product in the world. Our Limerick site uses the most advanced technology in the industry and we now employ over 640 people directly. Using our highly automated production process, we produce daily disposable contact lenses while utilizing state of the art technologies such as injection moulding, robotics, vision systems and sterilisation systems.

Vistakon Ireland was established in 1995 in the National Technology Park close to the University of Limerick. The facility was originally fitted with six advanced production lines to manufacture one daily disposable contact lens for the European and Japanese markets. Since then we have expanded a number of times and now have over 31 production lines manufacturing one-day, fortnightly, monthly and colour contact lenses which are shipped worldwide.

Each year, we have increased output because of the increase demand for our Acuvue lenses throughout the world Continued expansion of our product lines and extensive engineering and retrofit projects ensure that this growth is sustained well into the future.

Position Summary:

Phase Technical Lead - Reporting to the Shift METL you will work with the METL and Line PT Teams to drive Safety, Quailty, LPS and Housekeeing Standards in the Value Stream.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Technical leader support ing the Line Teams (IMM, Robotics, Hardware control, OEE, Mechanical Set up, Vision Systems etc.).
- Ability to make technical calls and implement fixes that contribute to overall line efficiencies
- Coach and train technicians and mentor level 4 technicians.
- Organise and lead the value stream in support of the METL to achieve OGSM goals.
- Address safety,quality and housekeeping issues to ensure standard sare maintained and implement solutions
- Drive the Value Stream to meet business plan
- Demonstrate ability to lead turn-around of line downtime and increase yield while focusing on safety and quality
- Manage OGSM agenda across the shifts in conjunction with the METL
- Lead the value stream is the absence of the METL.
- Effectively communicate with technicians and drive culture of continous improvement
- Ability to undertake and deliver projects to improve value stream performance

Qualifications


Education and Experience:
- Technical Qualification, Time-served, or equivalent
- Min 3 years experience as a Process technician in a highly automated manufacturing environment
