DePuy Orthopaedics is the Joint Reconstruction business offering orthopaedic devices, solutions and supplies for hip, knee and extremity reconstruction, in addition to cement and operating room products.

The Supplier Quality Engineer I - Orthopaedics supports Supplier Quality Management, for raw materials, components and packaging materials used to manufacture finished goods. This individual executes the Quality strategy to ensure compliant systems and procedures are in place at J&J and material supplier sites. He/she is responsible for supporting new and existing supplier assessments to determine the state of Quality Systems, GMPs and Process Capabilities in support of ongoing business and new product introductions, to ensure that supplier systems are aligned with current regulatory requirements, standards, industry trends, and J&J policies and standards.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. A Bachelors Degree in a Technical or Scientific discipline is preferred. A minimum of 1 year (work, internship, co-op, etc.) in Quality Engineering, in a highly regulated industry highly preferred. Process Excellence/Lean experience is preferred. Experience conducting Process/Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis is an asset. Familiarity with inspection methods and techniques is an asset. Experience with Blueprint reading/literacy including GD&T is an asset. Knowledge of the QSR, Design Controls, Process Validation, and ISO quality requirements is preferred. Root cause analysis experience is preferred. Excellent problem solving, teamwork, communication and decision-making skills will be required. Ability to utilize Cognos database to extract, analyze, and trend data and create automated reports is strongly preferred. Advanced Excel skills are required.

This position will be located in Warsaw, IN and travel up to 25%.
