Medical Devices & Diagnostics Global Services, L.L.C., Global Supply Chain organization is recruiting for an Engineering Technician, located in Irving, TX.

Medical Devices & Diagnostics (MD&D) Global Services, L.L.C., represents more than 60 manufacturing sites and 26,000 employees who plan, source, manufacture and deliver high-quality and cost-effective medical products to our customers around the globe each day. Work of the MD&D Supply Chain supports a multitude of product platforms, new products and delivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout the healthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratory testing, diabetes management, joint replacement surgery and vision care.

The Engineering Technician will assists in the design of complex control systems for new and existing equipment including programming Programmable Logic Controllers using RS-Logix 500 Software, relay logic design and installation and temperature control design "PID". This individual will provide guidance on projects for the purpose of developing integrated systems to support manufacturing. The Engineering Technician will understand operation and function of all plant control process systems, communication equipment, computer systems, and other complex systems that support manufacturing. The individual will maintain and upgrade complex systems including electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, logic and mechanical components both during and after implementation, throughout scheduled shift hours and on an on-call basis as needed. The Engineering Technician will support the qualification and validation of equipment, integrated systems and software. This individual will install instrumentation and controls systems and documents installation using GMP standards. The Engineering Technician will review and improve present maintenance procedures, including updating and training. The individual will review project and/or maintenance documentation for conformance to current procedures. The Engineering Technician will coordinate any corrections needed for documentation and record keeping purposes. This individual will provide support in external or internal audits related to maintenance, including development and implementation of corrective actions. The Engineering Technician will assist on asset management activities, including tracking and inventory. This individual will provide support as needed to Manager and Supervisor.

Qualifications


Minimum of an Associate degree in electronics and a minimum 3 years related experience.

Bachelor Degree preferred.

SQL programming language is a plus.

Minimal travel may be required (10% domestic).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence required. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form required.
