The Strategy Planning and Portfolio Management Department within the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Business Information Office is seeking an experienced solution consultant/architect to join a high performance team of solution consultants who lead the solution planning, analysis and design process. Although this is primarily a technology position, it requires extensive interaction with business partners as well as information technology professionals. You will be responsible for understanding the strategic direction, priorities and needs of our business partners, and designing and facilitating optimal solutions to meet those needs.
As a Solution Consultant you will collaborate with business partners and solution delivery project team to:
- Gather business requirements and identify alternative solution options
- Analyze and evaluate hardware, software, tools and related processes required to support proposed solutions
- Assist business in discovering business process/ workflow, compliance, legal and labor implications of implementing a solution
- Develop solution and integration architectures
- Design and create prototype of the solutions with support from application developers
- Prepare and present deliverables to business partners
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for This Role:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or 4 additional years of relevant experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience in solutions consulting including defining requirements, developing solution alternatives and estimates and translating client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex IT solutions.
- 7 or more years of industry experience that may include business/systems architecture, professional services consulting and software development
- 3 or more years of recent Health Care IT experience in a variety of HealthCare provider and/or payer applications
- Experienced in complex integrated systems planning and solution alternative analysis and design
- Experienced in IT consulting with focus on delivery of complex enterprise integrated solutions
- Solid understanding of solution delivery life cycle of enterprise solutions, including experience in business process/workflow analysis, requirement elicitation and analysis, software and vendor selection, package implementation, and vendor management
- Broad-based knowledge of information technology including mainframe, distributed and mobile platforms - SOA, systems interoperability and integrations, industry standards, technology infrastructure, multi-media communication technologies.
- Excellent communicator with strong customer focus; ability to work with business executives as well as technologists to elicit business requirements and articulate technology options
- Excellent problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
- Team oriented and ability to work and collaborate in a complex matrix and dynamic environment
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in a relevant discipline
- Health Care industry experience with deep domain knowledge in Health Care Delivery
