Provide high quality health care to Kaiser Permanente members in a cost effective manner and in accordance with accepted professional practice standards.
Essential Functions:
- Completes diagnostic evaluations for autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including treatment planning.
- Monitors member's clinical progress in treatment.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary care with external and internal providers.
- Demonstrates ability to problem solve clinical issues and direct others in behavioral interventions.
- Demonstrates leadership with calm and effective communication and evidence based clinical decision making.
- Demonstrates proficiency in child developmental assessments, including the ability to identify psychopathology appropriate to the age of the patient evaluated and differentiate ASD from other conditions.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge with the most current treatment interventions available for ASD.
- Ability to direct clinical interventions for ancillary providers.
- Ability to build clinical programming.
- Provide high quality health care through direct assessment, diagnosis and formulation/implementation of treatment plan for mental health patients (may include treatment of psychosis, depression, anxiety, etc.).
- Document in writing all care in patient's permanent medical record in accordance with accepted medical/legal standards.
- Provide all treatment in accordance with accepted practice standards, hospital/clinic protocols (including supervision by a physician), and state licensing guidelines.
- Provide case management through appropriate triaging and referrals, consultation with other providers, telephone contact with patients and their families, and contact with outside agencies.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Two (2) - three (3) years of assessing, diagnosing and treating autism spectrum disorders. Pre-licensure experience may count.
- One (1) year of clinical experience.
- Doctoral degree required (Ph.D., Psy. D.).
- High school diploma or GED.
- State licensure.
- NPI.
- Program development.
- Fully competent in using standardized ASD assessment tools.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Self-directed work.
- Ability to assess primarily children and occasional adults.
- Thorough and working knowledge of brief therapy techniques and principles, individual and group therapy techniques and principles, and child and adult techniques and principles.
- Working knowledge of legal requirements for confidentiality, child abuse, homicidal threats and psychiatric hospitalization reporting.
- Ability to assess, diagnose and treat child and adult mental health patients.
- Individual, couple, family and group therapy skills required.
- Ability to use appropriate procedural/testing equipment, to see large volume of patients, and to interface with large provider and support staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) - ten (10) years of assessing, diagnosing and treating autism spectrum disorders preferred.
- Two (2) or more years of clinical experience preferred.
- Licensed psychologist in Oregon and Washington preferred.
- Certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board preferred.
