Under limited supervision, the Compliance Coordinator will assist compliance staff in ensuring organizational adherence to certain compliance elements, internal policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. Primary function is the tracking and coordination of various program elements to achieve compliance with internal protocols and regulatory standards.Duties also include assistance with internal site surveys (in conjunction with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager), verification of the completion of certain mitigation efforts (in conjunction with Senior Program Manager, Audit Readiness and Risk Assessment), and assistance with organizational training efforts (in conjunction with the Fraud Control Manager/PSO).

Essential Functions:
- Maintains legislative tracking database of new and revised laws and regulations for the current year to ensure organizational compliance by or before the effective date.
- Assists with the annual risk assessment process, to include tracking of identified risks and corrective action plans, and verification of completion of mitigation efforts.
- Assists with environmental health and safety functions to include internal site surveys and identification of safety and regulatory violations within the regional office and medical office buildings.
- Assists with tracking of annual and specialty training statistics, to include preparation of leadership status reports.
- Assists with tracking, coordination, and closure of Compliance Hotline cases, to include preparation of leadership status reports, tracking corrective actions to completion, and coordinating audits for compliance with corrective actions.
- Functions as the web-content editor for the Regional Compliance Department's intranet site, quarterly report, and other compliance-related material.
- Oversees process to review and/or update compliance department policies at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a health care or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of escalating experience in a health care setting.
- Strong working knowledge of the critical elements of the auditing process.
- Familiarity with a variety of the compliance field's concepts, practices, and procedures, especially the elements of an effective compliance program.
- Must be a self-starter and work independently; results oriented.
- Must have advanced computer skills, e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information on a daily and ongoing basis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective statistical analysis and analytical problem solving.
- Results-oriented, analytical and creative thinker with the highest level of personal integrity.
- Strong attention to detail is mandatory for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MS degree in health care or related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health care setting with at least 2 years in the business of health care (e.g., claims, billing, rating and pricing, compliance, HR investigations, etc.).
- Prior experience with Kaiser Permanente.
- Prior health care compliance experience.
- Ability to influence staff who are not direct reports.
