Provides consultation to all levels of physicians, management and professional staff regionally in developing multimedia-based communication solutions to meet communication objectives and enhance Kaiser Permanente's image. Serves as a brand strategy design consultant and lead graphic designer. Produces multimedia-based products to assist and enhance customers' communication objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Develops, executes, and provides direction on graphic design solutions for highly visible, multifaceted marketing and member communication initiatives in support of Kaiser Permanente brand positioning. Uses independent judgment and is responsible and accountable for ensuring brand criteria are met on a Regional basis.
- Ensures design solutions are appropriate for targeted audiences. Meets project-specific criteria to include content and budget parameters and reflect best practices for efficiency and timeliness, and reinforcing Kaiser Permanente brand identity. Strategizes and collaborates with local and national brand identity partners and designers. Advocates implementation of localized brand tools and resources.
- Provides consultation to physicians and staff at all levels to promote awareness and implementation of evolving brand design guidelines. Educates and trains staff in usage of brand tools and resources.
- Participates as a member of various communication committees to facilitate client needs and communication objectives.
- Provides consultation and strategies with both internal customers and external vendors/suppliers in ensuring all communication products maintain standards of professionalism, and adhere to brand guidelines where applicable. Keeps abreast of advances in design trends, software, typography, color, photography, and print/multimedia production.
- Conceptualizes and creates a variety of multimedia projects, including web, video, audio, publishing, photographic and presentation products. Completes independently, under tight deadlines and within budget. Acts as a central design resource. Motivates others and directs problem solving on conceptual, technical and process issues.
- Sets direction and establishes goals and objectives to ensure products are aligned with Regional goals and priorities.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Four years graphic design or related experience, to include electronic print production, illustration, layout work, and developing diverse collateral designs for a wide range of audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, multimedia production, or related field; or equivalent related experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing design for cost-effective printing and output.
- Demonstrated conceptual ability.
- Demonstrated ability to operate, carry and transport heavy professional production equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in creativity/innovation, customer service, group presentations, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, quality management, written communication, and consulting.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and mastery skill in audio-visual equipment, professional/broadcast video production equipment, computer technology and resources, design software and hardware, computer programs for page layout, photographic/color manipulation and web development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and mastery skill in Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, CorelDRAW, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Dreamweaver.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of photography.
