GENERAL SUMMARY



 

Participates in the design, implementation and evaluation of cost effective Medicare member retention strategies to contribute to the profitability and growth of the company.  Participates on project teams tasked to develop and implement Medicare member retention plans.  Works to identify, design, recommend and execute analytical solutions and provides follow-up consultation services, both of which assist in the member acquisition/retention process.

 

 

      

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES



- Assists senior management with the development and implementation of product specific retentionplans including the identification of target markets, product messaging, marketing costs, and projected sales. Designs evaluation methods for each retention plan.
- Analyzes membership data on record, with a focus on identifying opportunities for member growth/retention, revenue/profit maximization, and higher CAHPS ratings.
- Mines data to identify at-risk and behavioral triggers (i.e., early warning signs) to help develop proactive outreach efforts.
- Leverages member, financial, and enrollment/disenrollment data to inform decisions and business cases in support of member loyalty initiatives.
- Interprets, communicates, and presents results to Directors, Senior Vice Presidents and Executive Vice Presidents in consistent and easy to understand formats to facilitate fact-based decision making in the area of member growth/retention.  
- Works closely with the Customer Service Organization to help facilitate more effective on-boarding, communication, and outreach programs.
- Serves as internal consultant to transform enrollment/disenrollment data into meaningful and actionable information for the entire range of member segments, by bringing to surface the “voice of the member” for each segment.
- Delivers business intelligence to clients by applying and demonstrating expertise in the areas of advanced analytics, forecasting, data extrapolation, and predictive modeling.
- Provides root cause analysis that will set in motion new retention and revenue initiatives across the company.  
- Supports, maintains designs, develops, and trouble-shoots process to improve, advance, or simplify data gathering and or reporting and analytics.
- Maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide ongoing member growth/retention program communication and coordination of efforts during the course of a project.
-  Works closely with appropriate internal resources to ensure ongoing communications to effectively manage resource issues, changes in project deliverables, budget variances, and deadlines.
- Assists in the identification of key business issues and the design of analytic approaches.  Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses on a broad array of issues.  
- Structures and execute analyses independently.
- Performs other ad hoc analysis / reporting duties as required.

 
Qualifications:



    JOB SPECIFICATIONS



      - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mathematics, statistics, management information systems, health care information technology.
      - Previous (3-5 years) systems analysis experience.
      - Effective project management and organizational skills.
      - Thorough understanding of statistics, advanced data analytics, data modeling, reporting methods, advanced database management, and data mining methodologies.
      - Ability to independently solve problems and prioritize work assignments in an often ambiguous work environment. 
      - Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing. 
      - Fundamental knowledge of health care industry, including Medicare plan/benefit design and operational principles.
      - Ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
      - Proficient use of standard corporate word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software packages.
