Our national managed care company is seeking a Health Education Associate in our Moon Township Service Center. As a strategic member of the Customer Service Operations (CSO) leadership team, the successful candidate will assist with the planning, development, and implementation of health and wellness programs, outreach
activities, special events, and presentations which provide health and wellness education to the member community and to the provider practices serving the membership. Assists with evaluating the needs of members to provide directed health and wellness educational programs, discussions, materials and/or sessions for this membership. Serves as a liaison with community health education and service groups, community resources, brokers, and employer groups to provide additional health and wellness-related educational information and opportunities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses the health and wellness education needs of the members. Assists in the development of a curriculum to provide for these needs. Monitors the health education programs to ensure they meet company standards and expectations.
- Coordinates and conducts health and wellness events. Serves as the point of contact for all issues regarding the successful planning and execution of the event. May conduct new member orientations and wellness generating events and activities.
- Assists with health education information presentations and events within community groups, educational facilities, medical offices, other member gatherings, brokers, and employer groups.
- Serves as a liaison with community resources, health-related agencies, brokers, and employer groups who can assist with the provision of health and wellness education for the members. Develops contacts with vendors to enhance or enrich health and wellness offerings. Assists with the coordination of member participation in planned presentations, screenings, and events.
- Keeps aware of health and wellness programs offered by competitive organizations.
- Assists with gathering data to meet the reporting requirements of regulatory agencies.
- May represent the health plan at finalist presentations by educating potential members about the merits and benefits of health and wellness programs that can improve and support the medical needs of their employee population. Meets with brokers and employer groups to obtain feedback regarding program and incentive design recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or fitness preferred.
- Previous experience in health education/health-related programs desired.
- Basic knowledge of disease and illness prevention and health promotion.
- Demonstrated presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Proficient with standard corporate software packages (i.e., Word, Excel, Access).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree – Education or health-related field, exercise, teacher, PT, OT or Social Work
