Description
Johnson & Johnson MD&D Global Surgery is seeking a Director of Architecture.
The Global Surgery organization has recently integrated in 2012 to support all 7 business units under Global Surgery, including Ethicon Surgical Care, Biosurgery, Energy, Acclarent, Mentor, Cardio Vascular, BWI and Sterilmed.
Specific responsibilities for the Director of Architecture will include;
Lead, influence and negotiate to achieve architectural solutions with business values that deliver results for internal/external partner(s). Earn the trust and confidence of Global Surgery CIO and internal/external stakeholders. Identify innovation opportunities and gain acceptance through collaboration. Engage business executives as needed to develop sponsorship for strategic roadmaps. Develop IT strategic roadmaps (for each process area) and communicate their implications and business values to business units. Work with local BUIT teams and business groups for their architecture needs and be the single face of the Architecture CoE to those business units. Mask the complexity of the CoE by gathering resources as needed for local needs. Lead the development of Application Life Cycles (ALM.) Meet or exceed customer requirements with respect to time, cost efficiency & business values. Lead and develop architecture solutions for critical projects. Provide initial architecture guidance for local project teams along with conducting architecture project reviews, as needed, for all Global Surgery franchises/regions. Ensure that project architects are aligned with roadmaps. Provide leadership in the development of blueprints and roadmaps for current and future and be able to drive adoption of these roadmaps. Responsible for learning and adhering to all Enterprise and ITSS architecture processes to recommend to Global Surgery CIO in the approval or rejection of non-standard technology. Guide internal/external architecture resources in driving strategic initiatives, programs or projects that bring these roadmaps to fruition. Be willing and able to engage personally when and where needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of 12 years of progressive IT experience with a four-year degree or a minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience with an advanced degree is required. Demonstrated ability for rapid understanding of business processes, and implications to roadmaps and strategy is required. Demonstrated ability for rapid understanding of business strategies, and their implications for IT strategy is required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation are required. Demonstrated business acumen and management skills in a largely technical group are required. Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives, including ability to balance requirements from an enterprise, sector and franchise/region level is required. Proven and credible business knowledge and experience in business unit relationships is required. Must have served as a thought leader for a business unit and been seen as a peer and partner by that business unit. Experience and practice in architecture is required. Deep technical knowledge of information technology relevant to major business processes is required.
Demonstrated understanding and management of financial processes and results related to projects, departmental budgets, and the enterprise is preferred. TOGAF and ITIL certification is preferred. Knowledge and experience in commercial, business intelligence, supply chain, quality control and/ or R&D business processes is preferred.
