The Health Care Insurance industry is one of the most discussed industries in today’s business, and it is highly desired by job seekers in all areas, particularly Information Technology.

At Coventry, an Information Security Engineer is responsible for the research; deployment; and maintenance of information technology security hardware and software systems to protect company data assets from being compromised. This individual will collaborate with the Human Resources and Legal Departments to coordinate data preservation and examinations for internal investigations and litigation.

The Senior Information Security Engineer should have a wide range of knowledge and experience across diverse hardware and software environments. Experience with Packet Analysis, EMC Netwitness, Wireless Security, Intrusion Prevention Systems and Citrix Environment is highly desired.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develops and leads technical risk assessments across all information technology applications and systems to identify and assist in mitigating security related issues for Coventry's computing environment.
- Leads computer forensic activities for the identification and confirmation of employee misconduct as directed by Human Resources.
- Leads system vulnerability audits and penetration tests against Windows and UNIX systems to identify security configuration concerns and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
- Leads response activities concerning network intrusions by identifying the source of the intrusion and the associated attack vector(s).
- Develops and implements a remediation plan.
- Designs; deploys; and maintains the company's security information management system to perform critical event correlation across all core computing systems.
- Researches current hacker tactics to architect systems or processes to counteract threats to the company's computing environment.
- Presents technical information and makes risk mitigation recommendations to senior management.
- Conducts technical reviews of and approves external access to Coventry's computing environment.
- Works closely with the Legal Department and outside counsel to provide guidance on computer forensics activities concerning electronic discovery.

Qualifications:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience in IT risk management.
- One of the following certifications is required: Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Computer Forensic Examiner, CISSP, MSCE, GSNA, GCED, GCIH, GPEN, ACE, GSEC, or EnCE.
- Previous experience providing legal testimony preferred.
- Strong judgment, analytical, and communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and support.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply new and changing information.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
