Leads and motivates an overall operational team for the effective operation, quality, asset care, and optimization work of a brewing business unit. Ensures high quality products are produced cost effectively and safely through maximizing operational efficiency. Utilizes MillerCoors Manufacturing Way principles and work practices which contribute to world class standards of operation through monitoring and evaluating SPQSCR to continuously improve performance.

Is responsible for financial performance including the budget for the business unit. Develops and executes business plan for unit. Assets include brewing functions.

Builds and develops a team of employees in the areas of technical and leadership development. Responsible for a team of direct reports based on unit or area configuration. Leads and promotes an inclusive and engaging environment.

Is responsible for adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs and related MillerCoors Quality Management System including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of MillerCoors products.

Education level and/or experience



  • BS or BA degree in Brewing Technology, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or related field or equivalent experience required. Certificate in Brewing Science (Siebel or IBD) preferred.
  • 6+ years prior experience in brewing industry or related industry with demonstrated business improvements

Skills and/or knowledge 


  • Advanced familiarity with the various technical aspects of the assigned packaging or brewing operations and its’ associated equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of accepted brewing and food packaging process practices and procedures.
  • Understanding and knowledge of maintenance concepts for installed equipment including asset care routines and practices.
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC). 
  • Sound knowledge of financial practices including budget development and performance. 
  •  Ability to analyze production reports and quality data to recognize adverse trends. 
  •  General understanding of the practices associated with the development and administration of union contracts. 
  •  Good communication/interpersonal skills and leadership qualities to directly manage personnel, while providing for their technical training and personal development. 
  •  Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of MillerCoors Manufacturing Way. 
  •  Must be able to establish and implement plans for changing workplace strategies adopted by the company in pursuit of its’ business needs. 
  •  Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EEO practices/policies, TTB regulations, plant safety regulations, FDA guidelines for food plant operations, and environmental regulations regarding manufacturing brewery operations. 
  •  Ability to apply root-cause and problem solving skills at all levels. 
  •  Ability to set priorities
