A candidate working as an engineering co-op will be placed in various departments and will have various responsibilities, which could include some of the following activities. The co-op will assist manufacturing engineering teams with process improvement activities and new process/product introductions. The candidate will help with process qualification activities by drafting qualification documentation, test sample preparation, test execution, data gathering, and data analysis. The co-op will assist in the preparation of manufacturing documentation and specifications. He/she will coordinate the flow of manufacturing qualification orders and test samples throughout all stages of manufacturing. The candidate will do process mapping and flowcharting of existing and proposed processes. The candidate will help engineers with various Black Belt/Process Excellence initiatives through the application of statistical tools. He/she will work with supplier quality and purchasing on the qualification and delivery of instruments. He/she will coordinate the fabrication of instruments for design concepts, cadaver sessions, and surgical evaluations as well as final sourcing for launch.

Qualifications


Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering. Candidates must be available to work full-time (40 hrs/week) during the Spring (January - June), Summer (May/June - August) or Fall 2013 (July - December) Co-op Session. Only students in their sophomore year or above will be considered. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.

This position is located in Raynham, MA. Students must be able to provide their own transportation since this location is not within walking distance from the train station. Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
