DePuy Mitek, Inc. is currently recruiting for an Industrial Design Intern, located in Raynham, MA. DePuy Mitek is the Sports Medicine business offering orthopaedic sports medicine products, soft tissue repair devices, joint movement solutions and minimally invasive and arthroscopic solutions.

As an intern at DePuy Mitek, you will have the opportunity to infuse design into all stages of the product life cycle for our next generation products focused on improving patient quality of life. The intern will assist in the identification of unmet needs, field research, VOC sessions, and implementing design principles through conceptualizing, defining, developing & creating new products or upgrades to current products.

Qualifications


Candidate must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university during the intern session. Candidate must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design or Human Factors Engineering. Only students that have completed their freshman year or above will be considered. Candidate must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the intern session. Candidate must be available to work for 3 to 6 months between August 2012 and December 2013.

Experience using 2d and 3d design software (Alias Studiotools, Solidworks, NX, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Painter, Flash) is preferred. Experience with modeling (SLA, SLS, FDM, 3D printer, CNC, Metal/Wood Shop) is preferred. We are looking for a well rounded individual who possesses exceptional design and presentation skills, is articulate, eager to learn, and interested in the challenge of medical product design. Portfolio of work available for review by hiring manager is required. This position is located in Raynham, MA. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to this location.
