Qualifications
- PhD in Entomology and 1+ years industry experience or M.S. in Entomology or related field and 3+ years experience preferred.
- Strong applied/field entomology and insect rearing experience
- Research experience in both laboratory and field including an understanding of transgenic approaches for insect control including resistance management is a plus
- Proficiency with database applications, spreadsheet software, experimental design and statistical analyses
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong people skills (people development)
- The individual should be a self-starter and able to rapidly synthesize a broad range of information into a scientific approach
- Problem solving skills
- Travel required throughout the year
- Ability to conceptualize, design and execute laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments that address insect specific research questions in transgenic cropping systems including insect resistance management. The individual will have a broad understanding of current and future trends for transgenic solutions for agricultural insect pests.
- Ability to work closely with scientists from several disciplines to support discovery and development of next generation insect control solutions.
