Job description

Within the Strategy & Transformation Practice the Strategy & Transformation Managing Consultant will contribute to and support the delivery of Technology Strategy solutions to IBM Clients within the Distribution Sector.

The Consultant will possess a blend of general business and IT Strategy competencies that provide a versatile background to IT Executives and client teams. IT Strategy, IT Transformation, Application Portfolio Prioritization, IT Effectiveness, and IT Innovation are key offerings this individual would help deliver and continue to strengthen for IBM from a commercial perspective.

Relevant industry depth/experience in our Distribution Sector client industries is required: Retail, or CPG, or Life Sciences/Pharma, and/or Travel and Transportation

As a Consulting Practitioner, you'll work collaboratively with clients to develop integrated business and operating strategies, and models, that create rapid and sustainable value. You'll help clients envision their future, as well as align business and technology to create new possibilities, develop the strategies and plans to achieve those possibilities, and manage the change as the vision is implemented.

Travel up to 4 days per week may be required.

It is also expected that new hires live within a reasonable commuting distance (generally 50 mi or less) of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Hartford, CT; Houston, TX; Kansas City, MO; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY and surrounding areas; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Washington, DC.

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years experience in Technology Strategy Consulting using methodologies and frameworks via a consulting firm and/or professional services organization.
  • At least 3 years experience in some/most of the following: IT Strategy, IT Organizational Change, IT Governance, Enterprise Architecture, IT Performance Management and/or IT Cost Reduction.
  • At least 3 years experience in leading and managing projects that deliver complex IT Strategy and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior client executives.
  • At least 2 years experience in the understanding of key technology trends and their impact on the client's business.
  • At least 2 years experience in in one or more of the following industries: Consumer Products, Retail, Life Sciences/Pharma, and /or Travel and Transportation.
  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Fluent


Preferred
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 6 years experience in Technology Strategy Consulting using methodologies and frameworks via a consulting firm and/or professional services organization.
  • At least 6 years experience in some/most of the following: IT Strategy, IT Organizational Change, IT Governance, Enterprise Architecture, IT Performance Management and/or IT Cost Reduction.
  • At least 6 years experience in leading and managing projects that deliver complex IT Strategy and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior client executives.
  • At least 5 years experience in the understanding of key technology trends and their impact on the client's business.
  • At least 5 years experience in in one or more of the following industries: Consumer Products, Retail, Life Sciences/Pharma, and /or Travel and Transportation.
  • At least 2 years experience in leading and/or assisting in consulting sales activities related to Technology Strategy and IT Performance Management engagements to CXO level clients.
