The Consumer Healthcare division of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies provides consumers across the globe with a wide variety of personal care products and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. A statistician plays an important role in drug development and manufacturing, including non-clinical technology and product development, scale-up to manufacturing, process improvement, and clinical development. The statistician coop will interact with colleagues in a wide range of scientific fields allowing him or her to gain valuable experience in consulting and applying a variety of statistical techniques. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, necessary for clarifying statistical methods and interpretation with non-statistician colleagues. The statistician coop will be responsible for designing experiments, performing analyses, presenting and summarizing results for reports, and participating in cross-functional teams, with appropriate mentoring by an experienced statistician. The coop will need to be able to manage multiple assignments to meet agreed-upon deadlines. Co-Op assignments are eight month terms spanning the fall or spring semesters and summer months.

Qualifications


Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status).

Pursuing an M.S, M.Stat., or PhD in statistics or related applied quantitative field.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative is preferred.

Must currently be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the time of co-op.

Proficiency with statistical software such as SAS, JMP, Minitab, or R.

Familiarity with ANOVA, linear models, regression, variance components analysis, and experimental design required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Familiarity with sampling, mixed modeling, and multivariate analyses preferred.

Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives and while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.

Be a self-starter with ability to work independently within a matrix environment where tight timelines exist.

Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from work on a daily basis.

Candidate must be able to work full time (40 hours per week) during the 6 month co-op session.
