Position Description: As part of the Ryder team the Continuous Improvement Manager II will handle a variety of tasks.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in Business/Engineering/Logistics or equivalent program or a minimum of 7 (seven) years process or operations management experience.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification attainment is required within 12 months of hire.
TQM, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Mixed Model Flow/Pull and other process improvement experience
Advanced Level Skills in MS Word such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text.
Advanced Level Skills in MS Project such as importing and exporting data to and from your project, connection to a Project Server, setting multiple project baselines, customizing columns in a table, creating custom views and reports, PERT analysis and project tracking, and maintaining project budget compliance.
Intermediate level skills with SPC Excel such as, Setting up proper Data Collection Procedures, Cleanup of Data (Validation, and Outlier Removal), Construction and Interpretation of Control Charts, Control Chart Rules and Statistical Analysis, Common Causes vs. Special Causes and Corrective Actions, Guidelines on when to change Control Limits, Application of Multiple Charts, Calculating Process Capability, and Predicting Defect Rates
Experience with Internal Audit/Corrective Action Systems Software (e.g. JKT) required
Intermediate level skills with Minitab such as Confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, t-tests, etc., Regression, Analysis of Variance, Gage R&R, Histograms and Pareto Charts, Control Charts, Capability calculations, uses of various distributions, and Factorial DOE Additional Requirements: Masters Degree Preferred.
Experience with Lean Coaching is required.
Knowledge of Supply Chain and/or Transportation Industry preferred.
Responsibilities:
Resident site expert and consultant.
Provide support and guidance on more complex and/or larger CI/Lean Six Sigma projects
May participate in developing and mentoring CI leaders, guiding them through green belt certifications
Plans, leads and facilitates Kaizen teams
Completes event planning, performs pre-work, facilitates teams and supports events (This also includes startup, expansion & closure)
Follows-up on events and audit compliance to lean plans to prevent backsliding
Supports continuous improvement deployment, using fundamentals of lean and six sigma.
Leads and implements organizational change
Completes CI projects that lead to improved business results
Assesses CI initiatives and provides input and recommendations on future activities.
Design,implement, monitor and maintain the “Quality Management System” including documentation and records based on internal & external standards/regulations
Design ,implement and monitor the system for the effective collection, analysis and presentation of non-conformity data
Design the reports to review effectiveness of the “Quality Management System.” Establish agenda and frequency, and lead of the regular “Management Review” meetings.
Identify location training needs for quality assurance and continuous improvement topics. Develop the training materials and deliver to identified employees
Assist in implementing and maintaining Customer Satisfaction Management and Scope Management processes
