Will Statement



Will be an Academic Part-Time Undergraduate Student (APX) in the Engineering and Science Directorate’s Business Administration Group and will report to the Group Supervisor. Will be provided with hands-on work experience in the application of conceptual and theoretic curriculum within Institutional Administrative Operations. Will be responsible for financial reporting, analytical assessments, and contributing to project financial reviews. Will work closely with the Directorate’s business team and will support business administration of Directorate’s projects.

Will work with full time employees who: Responsible for a variety of general administrative activities to assist, coordinate, and perform aspects of logistics, acquisitions, shipping and finance for organizations of the Laboratory. Maintain, collate, assemble and prepare a variety of information, reports and records; may assist with coordination of organizational projects and/or collection of related information.

•Performs routine job functions and activities within assigned area.
•Assists with budgets utilizing Institutional financial tools.
•Assists with financial and workforce reports.
•Will provide support in administering a service center, including closure of standard work orders.
•Participates in the administration of reward and recognition programs for the organization.
•Updates related information to maintain accurate record of space utilization.
•Assists with internal aspects of moves.
•Helps resolve requests for phones, computers and other communication devices according to local organization guidelines.
•Assists with standard requests for acquisition process through delivery.
•Generates materials for production of outreach activities.
•May coordinate and/or create organizational website.
•Works on day-to-day assignments under direct supervision; receives detailed instructions on new assignments.
•Uses applicable policies, procedures and practices as guides to determine work methods and deliver results.
•Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.
•Seeks guidance in applying applicable policies, procedures and practices to new situations to determine appropriate action.
•Interacts primarily with immediate supervisor and team members within own organization.
•Participates on a team within own organization.

Skills



Required Skills:
•Must be currently enrolled at least half-time at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
•Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week, with a maximum of 30 hours per week while in school.
•Minimum GPA 3.0.
•Has some familiarity in one or more of the following areas: math, finance, budgeting, reporting, computer information technology, general business administration.
•Completed coursework with exposure to standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in computer information technology or business administration.
•Knowledge and experience with MS Office.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Desired Skills:
•Prior internship experience in related business areas.
•Participation in student organizations.
•Resourceful, self-motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Advanced computer skills, primarily MS Excel.
