GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs development and maintenance programming and associated tasks for the Coventry Automated Letters (CAL) application and other related applications and processes. Analyzes business processes in order to define application functional requirements and technical specifications. Participates in software/hardware releases and installation tasks and supports implementation planning and other operational preparations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements.
- Performs software coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks for batch letter processes in CAL and integrations with core Coventry Applications and external print vendors in accordance with team best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
- Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
- Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments.
- Conducts analysis of client business processes and functional requirements. Prepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
- Provides on-call support as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (3-5 years) experience in all phases of applications software development/maintenance life cycles in a client server environment.
- Proficiency required in one or more higher level programming languages respective to various client server / web-based programming development environments, or analysis methodology.
- Experience with SQL and XML required.
- .NET experience preferred.
- Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (e.g., partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.).
- Understanding of health care business and care delivery processes preferred.
