Description

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies is currently seeking a Quality Engineer III of Quality Assurance located in Los Angeles, CA.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and AVEENO®, as well as leading skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.

The Quality Engineer III will be a primary support for the Complaint Vigilance (CV) process for products made at external manufacturers. As part of the CV process, they will be responsible for the oversight and direct support of the technical evaluation, investigation, and closure of assigned consumer complaints, and will ensure full GMP compliance to QA responsibilities related to the consumer complaint processes. They will also be responsible for reviewing and approving for closure complaints from other department Quality Engineers. The Quality Engineer III will communicate with Plant Quality Engineers, Technical Assurance, Packaging Engineering, Consumer Information Center, Medical, and Regulatory, as needed, on key complaints to ensure clear understanding of issues and drive the issues to resolution. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that complaint trends are routinely monitored, formally reported to management, issues are escalated in a timely manner, and monitor compliance to the Complaint Vigilance Procedures.. This individual will also review prepared weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for completeness and accuracy.

The products in scope of this position are for the US Market and encompass all regulatory classifications (cosmetic, OTC, device) and include serious product quality complaints, as well as FDA filed complaints.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering is required. A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience is preferred. Knowledge of the principles and practices of quality assurance in the consumer, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry is required. Knowledge of GMP requirements and current FDA enforcement regulations is required. Knowledge of the FDA regulations related to complaints is preferred. Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint are required, with working knowledge of statistical tools preferred. Excellent analytical, prioritization, and communication skills are required. Strong leadership potential, supervisory skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required. The ability to work well in a team is critical. The ability to work in Los Angeles, CA is required.
