Reporting to the Global Strategic Marketing Director for the Vision Care Franchise, the Senior Global Strategic Marketing Manager will be responsible for using deep customer insights to develop and drive brand strategy for a portfolio of brands from ideation to discontinuation to deliver Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. growth. Further, the Manager must have experience developing brand strategy and implementing marketing plans for products in different phases of their lifecycle, and will be responsible for interacting with cross-functional and regional (global) management teams to develop strong interactive partnerships to ensure that project delivery is on-strategy, on-time, and on-budget.

Role specific competencies include: having achieved a level of general management responsibility either locally or regionally, the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, where the art of persuasion and influence are the keys to success rather than direct lines of authority; demonstrated traits of being highly self-motivated, self-confident and effective operating in a very independent mode, not requiring close supervision; the ability to build strong relationships across a dynamic, committed worldwide organization driven toward achieving organizational goals; demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and ability throughout their professional experience to serve as a role model for others in the organization; proficiencies in developing and implementing differentiated brand positioning and marketing communications, preferably to professional and consumer audiences; an ability to operate, act, break down barriers, thrive and work with a sense of urgency in ambiguous environments; proficiencies in working with market research partners to identify customer insights and trends that enhance delivery of the marketing strategy and business results; demonstrated knowledge and ability to use financial and forecasting measures to support platform planning and resource allocation; the ability to quickly assimilate, interpret, decide on need for action, and effectively communicate strategic implications of competitive intelligence, customer insights, overall, R&D findings, brand and company level benchmarking, customer / trade requirements and manufacturing inputs; the ability to build proficient knowledge of the regional businesses, and the overall global business, and use it to drive organizational urgency on business imperative projects; having possessed previous professional experience launching breakthrough products in an established consumer / professional category or leading a company's entrance into a new category with innovative products or services.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required; a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a Business or Marketing discipline is preferred; an MBA is preferred; a minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience is required; a minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in Classical Brand Management is preferred; prior experience in New Product launch or start-up environments is preferred; an intimate knowledge of the consumer and professional markets, including styles, trends, designer behaviors, design processes and consumer acceptance is highly preferred and an entrepreneurial spirit with the willingness to embrace risk is required. Must have current or previous people management experience.

This position may require up to 30% international and domestic travel and will be based in Jacksonville, Florida.
