In coordination with the Director, provides leadership and direction for strategy and operations planning of the Southern California Systems Solutions and Deployment Department. In absence of the Director, may assume the Director role and oversee day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions:
- Directs, manages, coordinates, and plans the development, implementation, and maintenance of KP HealthConnect and/or other clinical and administrative systems with other departments and IT Managers.
- In coordination with the Director, consults, directs, and provides leadership and direction for strategy and operations planning of Southern California Systems Solutions and Deployment.
- Develops, promotes, and maintains effective relationships with physicians, management and union leadership at the Medical Centers and regional offices regarding Systems Solutions and Deployment projects.
- Overall management of complex projects and initiatives.
- Convenes and leads cross-functional work teams ensuring that appropriate stakeholders are engaged and that project timelines are adhered to.
- Develops approach for analyzing or addressing a problem / situation and recommends and implements solutions.
- May manage multiple teams, projects, and competing priorities.
- Develops budget models and strategies to support assigned project scope and outcomes. - Monitors operational and capital budget for assigned projects and teams.
- Provides strategic planning and ensures that goals and services provided by staff are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Is responsible to ensure project outcomes are timely, of the highest quality, are service oriented and contribute to unit, departmental, and organizational objectives.
- Promotes a work environment which supports team performance and communicates the goals and vision and supports staff in meeting these goals.
- Provides coaching to supervisors and managers to analyze/diagnose/solve performance problems.
- Coaches, mentors, and motivates teams to maintain a consistent level of service and process excellence.
- Manages ongoing administration of assigned unit(s) including hire/termination of staff, staff development, communication, and performance evaluations.
- Acts as an advisor to the Director by structuring undefined issues for resolution, researching issues, and identifying underlying causes.
- Provides as backup as appropriate to the Director.
- Travel required.
- Leads ongoing development, professional satisfaction of staff through training, work assignments, increased responsibility, and mentoring.
- Recruits, coaches, and develops staff performance in alignment with organizational strategies.
- Sets and monitors specific performance goals for staff aligned with organizational strategies.
- Fosters a positive work environment emphasizing respect for individuals, high quality standards, innovation, and team work.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Six (6) years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment required with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and achieve successful outcomes in an environment of ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in HealthCare, Hospital, Public Health Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Ability to utilize management and inter-personal skills including: Communication, consultation, facilitation, influencing, negotiation skills on an expert level with a variety of management and other personnel, including external partners/groups.
- Lead multiple large scale complex projects that includes working with varied levels of staff, budgeting, delegation, staff development, coaching resource allocation planning, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability in development of team focus, partnership, influence, and change management.
- Demonstrated expertise in results orientation.
- Demonstrated decisiveness, action-orientation, capability to persevere in difficult situations, while maintaining personal integrity.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Ability to review and analyze large amounts of data, and present information to key stakeholders and leadership, as required.
- Demonstrated ability to determine key business/compliance/quality issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.
- Ability to delegate work, support team in completion of work, and offer timely feedback on an ongoing basis.
- Expertise in project management, analytical problem solving, and negotiating.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills; demonstrated skills in mentoring, coaching and developing other managers/staff.
