GENERAL SUMMARY
Assists in the implementation, interpretation, communication, and monitoring of information technology data security policies and procedures. Provides the technical and administrative support necessary to protect the company’s Information resources. Completes changes and enhancements to information security systems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors and maintains data security systems. Adds, updates, and deletes user profiles to maintain the integrity of access controls based on current policies and procedures. Informs users when requests have been processed. Reviews security logs and violation reports and follows up as appropriate.
- Ensures system users are aware of all current data security procedures.
- Assists in developing and implementing data security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse systems environments.
- Assists in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques.
- Assists other Security Administrators with the implementation of security controls in new and existing applications and systems.
- Participates in the review of security features of new software. Works with other staff to assess security system modifications required due to other system changes.
- Develops security procedural documentation as required.
- Participates in external work groups defining appropriate standards related to information security.
- Reviews and processes online requests by administering access for LAN accounts, VMS, Tru 64, HP Red Hat, AIX, and Sun host systems (Ingres and Oracle databses; corporate and third party applications; and by configuring applications, security groups, environments and user access within UASF).
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (3-5 years) experience with information security systems.
- Previous experience creating network and mainframe accounts required.
- Ability to meet productivity and quality measurements.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
- Must be able to learn quickly while retaining information in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Must be able to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.
- Problem solving and analytic skills required.
- Ability to interface with customers in order to provide good customer service is required.
- Work required the ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications.
- Adheres to corporate and departmental standards, methods and procedures.
