LifeScan Scotland was created in 2001 when Johnson & Johnson acquired the UK assets of Inverness Medical Ltd, a medical device company established in Inverness in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market. LifeScan Scotland's main product range includes the popular OneTouch® Brand of blood glucose monitoring systems, which is available globally. The company has also developed diabetes management software, control solutions and lancing devices and, in addition, produces the specialist test strips that work with many of the meters in the OneTouch Brand line.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Staff CSV Engineer here in Inverness. The role of the Staff CSV Engineer is to provide day-to-day supervision and prioritization of a team of engineers with particular expertise in Computer Systems and Computer Systems Validation. To provide initiative and leadership to implement systems and processes that are aligned with the overall quality and business visions in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
The role provides a high level of technical knowledge and practical experience of Computer Systems and Computer Software Validation, which includes, automated manufacturing systems, automated quality systems and tools, computer applications for business, bespoke computer software specification, design and systems testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead CSV team, directing day-to-day tasks and planning for future deployment
- Prioritise CSV team and own workload to meet deadlines and Implement day -to - day priorities in line with business needs.
- Serve as CSV department Subject Matter Expert (SME), represent Quality and present CSV validation documentation during Regulatory Inspections. Is recognised as the CSV function go to person.
- Mentor and coach others in the CSV function, Provide coaching, feedback and direction to direct reports and project teams.
- Translate a given strategy into tactics and measures, independently. May participate in strategy development.
- Lead complex validation projects and projects within own function. Significant involvement in cross functional and global projects.
- Guide Project Managers, Project Owners & Project Teams with regard to specific CSV requirements & responsibilities.
- Resolve & manage technical operational problems, provide solutions to difficult technical issues. Influence and persuade to bring about technical and process improvements.
- Resolves issues through constructive negotiation and professional behaviour.
- Make decisions based on data. Understands the balance of day-to-day activities versus big picture. Can assess risk and take action appropriately.
- Keep management informed and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Ensure accuracy and maintenance of the LFSS computer systems list
- Review and approve CSV validation and quality system documentation
- Ensure validation activities and documents are authorised and appropriate compliance approval is gained
- Lead by example, inculcating the Credo values in all actions within the workplace and promote the value of diverse perspectives. Facilitate and foster successful team behaviour.
- Liaise with global software validation teams and quality engineering personnel to work towards a common CSV validation process.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- Engineering Degree qualification in an appropriate Engineering discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree with additional IT qualifications) and with a broad technical/educational skills base.
- Formal problem solving techniques, e.g. PeX Green Belt certification.
- Self motivated/directed; ability to work with minimal direct supervision
