Medical Devices & Diagnostics Global Services, LLC., Global Supply Chain Organization is recruiting for a Staff Facilities Engineer to support the Ethicon Franchise. This position will initially be located in Cornelia, GA and eventually transition to Athens, GA.

Specific responsibilities for the Staff Facilities Engineer will include;
Ensures that the required preventive/predictive maintenance is performed as per procedures. Submits monthly reports base on: Work orders completions, PM completion, and Capital Projects status, Change Control Requests. Events that have a positive or negative impact on the Operation. Responsible for the proper identification of utilities equipment (asset no., piping flow direction markings, color coding systems, etc.). Reviews the cause of major repairs with affected operations management to prevent recurrences. Maintains the Facilities shop and equipment. Assist in the evaluation of spare parts requirements. Analyzes failures, breakdowns and repetitive repair causes. Serves as Plant liaison with related consultants, contractors and vendors. Discusses with these new equipment and facilities specifications according to requirements. Prepares related purchase requisitions /orders. Enforces and offers support to Safety, Environmental and Security Departments. Ensures departmental compliance with all related regulatory agencies and Ethicon and JNJ norms and regulations. Enforces, promotes and observes all safety, industrial hygiene rules and regulations established by the Company. Responsible for filing accident and near miss reports in a timely manner. Participates in the deployment of Safety policies and the General Safety Committee. Performs in regular self-audits in assigned areas. Participates in continuous improvement teams and generates, develops, evaluates innovative ideas. Recommends cost improvement projects. Develops and implements energy conservation plans and projects. Executes strategies and action plans required to achieve the objectives specified in the strategic framework. Prepares and manages applicable Facilities budget including capitals. Is involved in the development of building equipment specifications, testing plans, commissioning, and qualification of utilities activities.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor. Follow current compliance regulations and standards and comply with all federal regulated programs. Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality system. Support Plant Diversity Process. Ensure safe working conditions and practices in the department. Supports ETHICON System by identifying, evaluating and resolving problems. Develops and manages projects and Capital Appropriations Requests related to Facilities Engineering. Is responsible for the supervision/coordination of contractors and technicians as required.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 6 years experience in a similar position and mechanical expertise is required. A minimum of 4 years of electrical power experience is required. Competent PC literacy including CAD applications is required. Experience in Construction of Cost estimation, Space Planning, Energy Management systems, Project Management, specifications and bids, identification of new technologies, etc. is required. Experience supervising technical personnel is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills is required. Must be capable of reading plans and drawings.
Experience in the construction and start up operations of a new plant are preferred. An understanding of Mechanical and Electrical engineering techniques and practices with respect to automation is preferred. Competent understanding of GMP's and ISO 9001 standards are preferred. Medical Device industry experience is preferred. Knowledge of trades (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.) is preferred. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.
