Synthes Trauma offers a broad portfolio of orthopaedic fracture fixation products, including screws, plates, nails and other implants used to fix broken bones.
Synthes Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) offers a complete array of neuro, craniomaxillofacial, thoracic and soft tissue implants for skeletal and soft tissue repair and reconstruction.
Synthes Biomaterials provides a wide range of innovative products such as bone graft substitutes that complement the use of traditional metal implants.
The Associate Director of Market Access is responsible for generating health economic evidence and tools to support DePuy Synthes Trauma/Biomaterials/CMF programs targeted for the economic purchaser including hospitals, employers, and payers. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Market Access, Marketing, Medical and Sales to support key strategies and tactics designed to support communication of the economic value proposition to economic decision makers for DePuy Synthes products. Key areas of focus include creating economic models and tools for use in the field, generating value dossiers and other key communication vehicles targeted for the payer audience. The Associate Director will also need to understand global health care markets and actively engage with customers and internal colleagues on new health care payments models including accountable care organizations and bundled payments. This position will report into the Director of Market Access for Trauma/Biomaterials/CMF at DePuy Synthes.
The Associate Director of Market Access will lead the development of economic models and budget impact models for use with customers. She/ He will lead and manage outcomes research projects with external vendors and will demonstrate the ability to design and execute research using claims databases. This individual will synthesize clinical and economic data into concise materials for field dissemination and will coordinate research collaboration and publication development with external investigators and surgeon leaders. In addition, the Associate Director will develop tools to enhance the measurement and understanding of the efficiency of various procedures for a hospital decision maker and will partner with hospitals and surgeons on evidence generation initiatives

Qualifications
A minimum of an advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) in a discipline related to health services research such as epidemiology or health economics is required. A minimum of three years experience in the health care industry performing outcomes research or health services research is required. Expertise in the US healthcare environment and understanding of reimbursement is highly desired. Past experience in a hospital setting is preferred with an understanding of hospital finances. Prior experience authoring technical documentation/ value dossiers/ abstracts/ publication etc. is required. Advanced knowledge of building and analyzing economic models utilizing MS Excel is highly desired.
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, presentation and analytic skills are essential for this position. Ability to effectively communicate with external senior executives, KOLs and clinicians is also an essential skill. A demonstrated ability for strategic thinking, planning and execution is required. Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively in and/ or lead a cross functional team with key business partners is a must. Excellent track record in project management required.
This position may require the ability to travel up to 35% of the time, domestic or international. This position will be based in Westchester, PA.
