The IBM Interactive User Experience Director is responsible for overseeing all project-specific design processes and development and overall design integrity. This person:
â?¢ represents IBM Interactive in the initial engagement with the client
â?¢ is involved with the project throughout the design and development cycle
â?¢ leads the design team to design, develop and implement all aspects of design, concept and vision to solve real business problems
â?¢ works with the technical/solution architect to ensure technically practical application
â?¢ provides holistic estimates for all design efforts in a project
â?¢ directs and documents the design thinking and approach for all aspects of a front-end design effort
â?¢ works closely with the client and virtual team to ensure standards of excellence
â?¢ participates in projects to conceive and design solutions, often while in client meetings
â?¢ oversees in the development of all digital assets
â?¢ coaches and mentors a strong team of user experience professionals
â?¢ responsible for creating and maintaining the highest level of design integrity for all efforts, no matter how big or small

The focus of the User Experience Director is to:
â?¢ define innovative user interfaces and interaction styles which result in improved user satisfaction and efficacy
â?¢ evangelize a clear vision of best-in-class designs to senior executives, customers and analysts
â?¢ understand and assure client's brand characteristics and attributes
â?¢ translate customer requirements into defined specifications and inspire Technical Architects and IT Specialists team to develop a successful and valuable solution
â?¢ create branded high-level design studies and storyboards
â?¢ oversee visual and information architecture design and development
â?¢ develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary design strategies and bring new ideas to the team

The skills of the User Experience Director must include:
Creative drive to design the best user experience in the world
Strong software design communication skills (ability to communicate one's ideas through their design)
Open to feedback and knows how and when to defend design choices
Proven track record and a passion for designing compelling, award-winning user interfaces
Excellent presentation skills & and attention to detail, including client presentation skill
Experience working with various organizations/practices across many disciplines; Powerful and exemplary portfolio of previous projects and work products produced


Clients are typically aligned with Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical, Financial Services (Banking/Insurance), Electronics, Telecommunications, Distribution and Media & Entertainment Industries.

Readiness to travel up to 75%; traveling 4-5 days a week, home on weekends

Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 5 years experience in leading user experience teams in client-facing engagements
  • At least 5 years experience in creativity, interaction design and problem solving ability
  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Basic knowledge


Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years experience in leading user experience teams in client-facing engagements
  • At least 7 years experience in creativity, interaction design and problem solving ability
  • At least 3 years experience in Adobe Creative Suite
  • At least 3 years experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • English : Intermediate
