Description

Atrial Fibrillation ablation is a successful treatment option to cure patients. Currently there is very limited knowledge of this treatment option within many countries in EMEA. The objective of this role is to drive the adoption of Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Therapy in key target centres in Belgium (Wallonia and Flemish areas).

Essential Duties + Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

- Identify AFIB ablation focus centres (maximum 5) in accordance with Biosense Webster EP sales manager and sales team.
- Identify key decision makers who influence the referral pathway for patients in this speciality - with a focus on referring cardiologists.
- Identify and establish strong relationship with referring physicians to do / could refer patients to the specialist EP centres.
- Provide high quality, evidence based education on the benefits of AFIB ablation to these decision makers to drive the penetration of AFIB ablation.
- Build linkage between EP's and Referring Cardiologists in target areas.
- Consolidate activities in a business plan and track outcomes
- Work closely with the EMEA Therapy Expansion Leader, and other EMEA colleagues to share best practise in this new opportunity.

Key activities

- Develops and implements sales strategies for the assigned territory, generating referrals that result in the increase in AFIB ablation.
- Researches and documents the AFIB patients referral chain in targeted areas
- Conduct market needs assessments
- Coordinates with Biosense Webster representatives in developing and deploying techniques to link referring physicians to EP physicians
- Identifies Key Opinion Leaders in the community, communicating with them about Biosense Webster products to encourage their support of device therapy products
- Educates the target customer community on the merits of AFIB Ablation by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms
- Attends professional meetings (i.e. conferences, symposia) to build networks of contacts on behalf of the company and to stimulate further interest in AFIB ablation as a successful treatment option.
- Liaise with representatives for other Biosense Webster business sales teams to develop and maintain strong relationships with target customers
- Liaise with European colleagues to share best practice across the region.

Qualifications


Education / experience

- Degree in Sales, Marketing, Life Science or (Para-) medical Areas
- At least 3 years experience in commercial functions in the Healthcare industry or similar, preferably in cardiology ( anti arrhythmic, anti-coagulation drugs)
- Having a general cardiologist's network in Belgium is a real plus.

Skills

- Sales champion with ability to sell a concept, not a product: It would be a distinct advantage if the candidate had at least 2 years' experience of selling within the pharmaceutical industry in secondary care.
