Vision Care, the contact lens division of Johnson & Johnson, is well established as the world-leading manufacturer of contact lenses and continues to experience rapid growth. This progressive and innovative company includes among its' brands the No 1 selling brand of lenses, AcuvueŽ, which is distributed in over 70 countries worldwide.

Based out of our Sunbury offices, we are currently recruiting for a Process Manager to efficiently and effectively manage the processing of all orders from generation of Pick-slip through to Dispatch.

This role is accountable to serve our external customers and affiliate companies in line with delivery and quality promises, ensuring that product is available on time and within budget for the EMA group whilst maintaining a safe working environment through a robust Quality system (ISO13485) and adhering to environmental legislation.

The distribution department is responsible for inventory management to enable order fulfilment and on time despatch of deliveries. The process area manager role is central to the EVC supply chain, and works in tandem with the Inventory team to manage inbound and outbound logistics processes. The process area manager role covers all aspects of order processing from pick-slip generation, through to dispatch of the orders.

Approximately, 4 million orders per year despatched across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Inventory in excess of 12,000 Stock Keeping Units.

A combined workforce of over 120 people, including team leaders, operators & agency workforce.

Budgetary responsibility for approx. $3 million, predominantly payroll costs.

Current operation Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 22.00, with flexibility to work 24 hours, seven days.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Accountable for ensuring systems and people are aligned to support customer expectations by ensuring zero late orders.

Create a proactive safety culture being accountable for meeting business metrics, i.e zero LWDC and recordable incidents complete with 100% compliance to quality standards.

Provide leadership within distribution to support teamwork across all functions within the organisation.

Manage operating costs within area through continuous productivity improvements coupled with balancing of employee / agency headcount.

Develop a team for the future through ongoing people development and ongoing feedback and goal setting (P&D process).

Develop a culture of lean / continuous improvement to the EVC operation in terms of productivity and quality of delivered product and services.

Maintain and work within a quality management system incorporating effective staff training and appropriate process documentation.

Foster a culture of accountability & responsibility by supporting teams through daily/weekly actions.

Qualifications


Knowledge and skills required

Previous hands on' experience of a production or distribution environment. (E)

Strong leadership, motivational, influencing and people management skills. (E)

Proven track record of implementing operational improvements. (E)

Requires an analytical mind capable of solving problems quickly and effectively. (E)

Requires strong customer focus and an intuitive understanding of the customers' needs. (E)

Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple co-incidental tasks to tight deadlines. (E)

Able to identify risk areas and proactively implement contingency programmes. (E)

Positive, proactive attitude to safety at work. (E)

Good project management skills. (D)

Experience of budget management (E)

Business Improvement/Six Sigma LEAN methodology (D)

Qualifications:

HNC / HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline (E)

Preferably educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline. (D)

Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport member (D)

IOSH / NEBOSH qualification (D)
