The MillerCoors Can Manufacturing Plant, located in Golden, Colorado is the largest single aluminum can manufacturing plant in the world, producing approximately 4 billion cans a year.

In this position you will contribute to the successful manufacturing of high quality beer and beverage cans through safe and efficient operation of can manufacturing machines. Can Manufacturing production teams operate as self-managed work units in a structure that includes a Team Leader; Senior Specialists; and Area Specialists. Operators will receive day-to-day technical guidance from Area Specialist.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Contributing to achievement of safety, health and environmental goals and standards by understanding and complying with all legally required standards, company policies and department policies. Employees will contribute to accident prevention, elimination of industrial health risks and avoidance of legal violations by making safety practices the number one priority.

Assuring product quality from an assigned machine by understanding and complying with quality requirements and monitoring methods, operating quality monitoring equipment, performing process control checks, and making routine functional product quality decisions.

Assuring assigned machine runs within operating standards by understanding equipment functions, troubleshooting, monitoring machine performance and making routine process adjustments, when necessary shuts down machine and notifies specialist.

Contributing to continuous safety, quality and manufacturing process improvement, by keeping accurate and timely records for an assigned machine, and participating in problem solving efforts by generating ideas and supporting potential solutions.

Maintaining job skills by obtaining training and assessment in all operator job tasks described in the Can Manufacturing Training Program.   This program is a 4-step apprentice program that will take 1 to 2 years to complete based on skill and ability.  

Shift:   Various shifts and schedules

 

Required education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. 

Technical school attendance or specific technical training in a mechanical field desired.
 
Must be a minimum 21 years of age.

Related work experience: 2-3+ years work experience in a high-speed manufacturing team environment with responsibility for operation of a production high-speed machine is preferred.

Work experience in aluminum can or end manufacturing plant and team environment a plus.

Knowledge of basic machine functions or a strong aptitude for mechanical repair is required.

Knowledge of quality inspection and statistical process control methods is preferred.
