Description

Johnson & Johnson, through its operating companies, is the world's most comprehensive and broadly based manufacturer of health care products, as well as a provider of related services, for the consumer, pharmaceutical, and medical devices and diagnostics markets. We strive to provide scientifically sound, high quality products and services to help heal, cure disease and improve the quality of life.

Johnson & Johnson Medical Companies (JJMC), a division of Johnson & Johnson Inc., markets and distributes medical device and diagnostic solutions for use in institutional and primary health care settings across Canada. JJMC focuses on providing minimally invasive treatment options spanning various medical procedures and disease states. Among the products represented by its various business units are: surgical instruments, orthopaedic implants, devices for women's health including breast care, infection prevention and general purpose sterilizers, hernia solutions, haemostatic products, cardiovascular and neurovascular diagnostics and treatment.

Position Overview

Working with members of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Companies (JJMC) Sales, Marketing, and CAPE teams, the KAM will enable positive business outcomes for the Global Surgery and Ethicon Surgical Care portfolios. The KAM is in charge of creating and implementing account strategies and developing long-term partnerships with our most valuable customers. This role requires a high degree of personal integrity and self-motivation as they will be working independently. Strong customer focus and a data driven approach in attaining set objectives are mandatory candidate characteristics. Furthermore, the job holder should have good leadership skills to effectively align an informal team to meet account objectives. Identifying and leading key business opportunities with the customer facing teams in the region, the KAM will increase our competitive advantage in the territory and select accounts by leveraging relationships with Hospital Procurement, Administration and defined clinical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Account Prospecting & Targeting:

One of the main responsibilities of the KAM is to identify target accounts for the company. They are expected to collect, validate and communicate account specific information to continuously further improve targeting quality.

Account Planning and Integration Across Businesses:

The KAM is expected to create comprehensive account plans for priority accounts including e.g. account specific stakeholder mapping, the setting of account objectives and the definition of concrete tactics and action steps that will lead to accounts buying Global Surgery and Ethicon Surgical Care products. Following the account plan, the Account Manager needs to enable the organization to implement the defined tactics and action steps, moving the accounts up the buying process from prospects towards high value customers. This requires the KAM's ability to successfully persuade, negotiate and motivate others to achieve a desired outcome.

Creating & Nurturing Customer Partnerships:

Due to the long-term orientation of account management, the job holder is required to maintain and expand close customer relationships or partnerships which should be built on professional manners, consistent customer focus and distinct relationship skills. It is also the responsibility of the job holder to turn his/her customer relationships into commercial benefits, or sales, for JJMC.

Communication and Knowledge Sharing with the Commercial Team:

The Account Manager needs to communicate within the commercial teams, with his colleagues and his manager internally, as well as externally with the customers. Develop and leverage a broad base of knowledge in current and future JJMC product portfolios. The complex account selling environment requires him/her to effectively coordinate tasks between different internal stakeholders in order to achieve objectives with the customer.
