DePuy Synthes Spine is the Spine business offering a comprehensive portfolio of spinal care solutions for the treatment of the most simple to the most complex spine disorders using traditional and minimally invasive techniques.

The Manager of Customer & Key Account Pricing Strategy is responsible to deliver profitable growth through customer segmentation pricing strategies and key account pricing framework. This is an individual contributor role to create, build, and transform the key account pricing capabilities of a developing pricing function at DePuy Synthes Spine. He or she works collaboratively and prepares a holistic account view with in-depth analysis. Then determines the right price structure to attain the account goals, and assist sales with creating primary and secondary price negotiation strategies to engage with customers.

The Manager of Customer & Key Account Pricing Strategy will provide strong leadership as a pricing champion and change agent to transform and elevate the pricing capabilities of DePuy Synthes Spine. She/ he will analyze and segment accounts by price performance, buying behavior, and other factors. In collaboration with sales & market insights, determine customer price segmentation strategy and defensible price structure and determine, set, and manage customer segment pricing guidance using PROS enterprise pricing software in collaboration with stakeholders across marketing, finance, contracting, and sales. This individual will define and create the framework for managing pricing at key accounts in collaboration with U.S. area vice presidents, regional sales managers, and contracting teams to drive profitable growth. The manager will determine a holistic account view framework used in price planning ahead of customer negotiation. This may include quantifying existing business and its potential, key drivers and decision makers, as well as understanding what the account is looking for and evaluate our performance. She/ He will determine and create price structures used to influence the behavior of key accounts. Starting with account goals, design smart discounting structure to address account challenges and to shape the desired outcome. Further, the incumbent will work with sales to jointly develop primary and secondary account price negotiation strategies that deliver on the account goals and will participate in the contract pricing committee meetings in support of key account pricing. Stakeholders consist of marketing, finance, sales, legal, and health care compliance. The manager will measure, monitor, and report on account price performance and provide recommendations and will develop and maintain key account pricing tools to help with customer price planning and negotiation.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in an engineering, business, or financial related discipline and/ or an advanced degree (MBA) would be a preference. A minimum of 8 years related experience is required. Experience managing key account pricing as part of pricing deal desk, marketing and/ or relevant and equally extensive finance experience in supporting sales, product lines, and business planning is required. Demonstrated performance in delivering account results such as improving average selling price, increasing profits, increasing revenue, or gaining share is highly desired. A familiarity and/ or direct experience with pricing approach to effectively address various customer buying behaviors and procurement tactics preferred. Demonstrated ability creating a process of integrating information from multiple sources and turning it into a highly effective central information resource is required. Must have advance skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in the Medical Device and/ or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

The successful individual must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, articulate, and the collaborative "soft skills" to lead and facilitate pricing discussions across cross functional teams and projects (marketing, finance, sales). This position will require a highly analytical individual, with a practical approach and a strong business and financial acumen. In addition, strategic thinking & problem solving skills (especially an ability to think outside the box) is a must.

This position may require up to 30% domestic or international travel, as needed by business. This position will be based in Raynham, MA
