DePuy Synthes Spine is the Spine business offering a comprehensive portfolio of spinal care solutions for the treatment of the most simple to the most complex spine disorders using traditional and minimally invasive techniques.
The Manager of Product and Market Pricing Strategy is responsible to deliver profitable growth through pricing strategies, models, and process. This is an individual contributor role to create, build, and transform the strategic pricing capabilities of a developing pricing function at DePuy Synthes Spine. He/ she works collaboratively and conducts in-depth pricing analysis, determines the pricing strategy, and sets list prices, discount strategy, and price policies. Finally, this individual will create tools in support of the go-to-market pricing strategy.
The Manager of Product and Market Pricing Strategy will provide strong leadership as a pricing champion and change agent to transform and elevate the pricing capabilities of DePuy Synthes Spine. She/ He will define, create, and manage a strategic pricing process from product definition to launch and will analyze industry pricing dynamics using 3rd party reports with market insights team and identify DePuy Synthes price structure improvement opportunities to optimize profit dollar attainment. This individual will be responsible for leading the development of product and portfolio pricing strategies in collaboration with U.S. marketing, product development, finance, sales leadership, and legal to drive profitable growth. The manager will define and manage list price, discount price matrix, and pricing guidance in collaboration with various stakeholders across marketing, finance, and sales. Use PROS enterprise pricing software as part of this pricing process. In addition, she/ he will be responsible to develop and maintain strategic pricing tools to help with customer pricing decisions such as product portfolio segmentation, targeting, and positioning "TacAid" (DePuy Synthes internal tool) as well as economic value estimates to the customer.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in an engineering, business, or financial related discipline and/ or an advanced degree (MBA) would be a preference. A minimum of 8 years related experience is required. Experience in one or more of the following would be required: product marketing, product management, strategic pricing, health economics, reimbursement and/ or relevant finance experience, in supporting product lines and business planning.Track record of improving business results such as lowering costs, improving profits, increasing revenue, gaining share, or improving price positioning preferred. Experience using conjoint analysis, economic value analysis, modeling and price value mapping in price setting is highly desired. Working knowledge with using enterprise pricing software such as PROS, Vendavo, or other similar tools is preferred. An advanced skill with utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required. Experience in the Medical device and/ or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
The successful individual must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, articulate, and the collaborative "soft skills" to lead and facilitate pricing discussions across cross functional teams and projects. This position will require a highly analytical individual, with a practical approach and a strong business and financial acumen. In addition, strategic thinking & problem solving skills (especially an ability to think outside the box) is a must.
This position may require up to 10% domestic or international travel, as needed by business. This position will be based in Raynham, MA
