Qualifications
PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics or related field with at least 3 years of plant breeding experience (MSc in plant breeding with at least 5 years plant breeding or related experience would also be considered) The successful candidate should have a strong background in plant breeding, genetics, field plot technique and statistical analysis. Experience in corn breeding, managed abiotic stress testing or breeding for African environments will be an advantage.
Individual must be results oriented, innovative, and have proven organizational and leadership ability. Multitasking and being proactive are essential for success in this role. Energy and agility are also positive attributes for this role.
Proficiency with database applications, spreadsheet software, experimental design, and statistics are required.
A valid driver's license is a mandatory.
The ability to write and speak English fluently is essential.
