Project Specialist, Capital Projects Facilities Construction
Berkeley, CA

Facilitates multi-disciplinary activities for NFS Capital Projects teams including project management, furniture and equipment planning, contracts and other activities. Emphasis on duties varies based on project type and life cycle.

Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative, project and other support on an as needed basis to CPFC Director, Area Construction Managers and other CPFC team members as they manage CPFC projects and Department operations..
- Collects, complies and analyses information as needed to provide reports as requested by managers.
- Resolves operational and project issues and insures time lines are met.
- Tracks data and reports from field CPFC teams
- May prepare routine correspondence, contract and compliance documentation.
- May conduct research to support CPFC operations that involves outreach to CPFC teams of other National Facilities Services teams. .
- May conduct research to support contract audit and/or operational or other CPFC trends.
- Supports Director and Sr. PM in data collection and tracking of Facilities Conditions Assessment projects.
- Supports Director on an as needed basis in his efforts to coordinate and prepare documents for the Plant Maintenance Committee and Clinical Technology Committee.
- May coordinate vehicle usage and other CPFC operational needs on a monthly basis.
- Supports the duties of the ACMs on an as needed basis.
- Supports the CPFC server and other document management efforts.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines preferred.
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
- General knowledge of construction disciplines and operations.
- Strong skills with standard Office applications including spreadsheet and project management software.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Familiarity with construction blueprints and ability to interpret equipment specifications.
- Proven ability to work with project planning, financial and technical software to support data management and reporting.

Preferred qualifications include:
-Bachelor's degree preferred.
-Excellent skills in Microsoft office suite: Excel, Word, Power Point
-An ability to reach out to people within and outside of the team to research, find data and resolve issues.
-An ability to both work independently and on a team to resolve issues and complete projects.
-Knowledge of general construction practices is a plus.
-Experience in the construction field and a health care organization are preferred.
-Strong administrative skills and a desire to learn additional skills, use web-based tools and work on various project related tasks and operational topics.
