This position reports to the Senior VP/Area Leader & supports the senior management team to identify & develop the portfolio of the performance improvement initiatives associated w/ high priority strategic goals that will be conducted in the organization. This position routinely guides reporting of portfolio of projects within strategic initiatives, mentors performance improvement teams, supports the teaching of basic improvement skills to staff, identifies & communicates barriers w/ executive teams, & provides support to the organizational oversight of team activities insuring alignment w/ strategic objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Manages portfolio of performance improvement projects ensuring timeliness, milestones & deadlines are organized, coordinated & met while allowing the local operational leaders to maintain process ownership
- Ensure that portfolio goal is supported by changes that, if implemented, will achieve organization's intended goal
- Ensures that the business & opportunity case for each project is based on appropriate, clear measures & includes clear goals
- Incorporates appropriate change management strategies & tools into project leadership
- Facilitates team meetings effectively & productively
- Mentors & coaches Co Leads & front line teams to improve outcomes using the KP Performance Improvement Model
- Able to help teams use data for decisions & sequencing tests, uses rigorous data collection & analysis to guide effective team decision making
- Uses SPC software to analyze & interpret performance
- Facilitates teams' using small tests of change (PDSA cycles) to design the best solution & then hardwires into operations
- Ensures reliability of process redesign & develops sustainability plans
- Prepares & delivers reports & presentations at key intervals throughout the project
- Works closely w/ Oversight & Learning Team to monitor progress, share learning & identification of barriers
- Applies the appropriate performance improvement methodology to address improvement opportunity (e.g., MFI, Lean DMAIC)
- Facilitates the development of flow charts to select teams & project portfolios & develops cascading team charters w/ sponsors & co-leads
- Applies Deming's theory of Profound Knowledge to manage performance improvement initiatives
- Applies coaching, mentoring & facilitation techniques to guide team & overcome problems
- Partners w/ Organizational Development to develop Performance Improvement education plan for the facility team leads & staff & teaches as necessary
- Helps leadership team identify when project is ready to implement & appropriate sites to spread practices
- Collaborates w/ regional & program office partners on various activities

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Five (5) to ten (10) years work experience in industry or healthcare
- Prior experience in performance improvement, facilitation, change & project management
- Trainingand experience in performance improvement methodologies & change management preferred
- Bachelor's degree, master's preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct & interpret quantitative/qualitative information with analytical problem solving and the use of statistical process control charts preferred
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in performance improvement preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead professionals & manage others through influence & collaboration
- Must exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness & results orientation
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, problem solving & communication skills
- Demonstrated success in at least one complex PI initiative that includes spread and sustainability preferred
- Ability & desire to integrate PI principles into work processes preferred
