The Ethicon Surgical Care Business, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Marketing (Out of Hospital Business Solutions) located in Somerville, NJ.

The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies-including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices-that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Ethicon Surgical Care business combines products and services of two market leading legacy companies, both with long histories of medical innovation. Ethicon, Inc. based in Somerville, New Jersey, was founded more than 80 years ago as a pioneer in suture development and manufacturing, helping to transform the safety and electiveness of open surgery. Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. was created 20 years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio, developing innovative devices that have driven the revolutionary shift from open to minimally invasive surgery that continues to lead the industry today.

The Director, Out of Hospital (OOH) Business Solutions is responsible for growing market share and strengthening this important and growing market segment. S/he will be responsible for gathering customer insights and identifying key market trends, mapping them to business opportunities, and developing strategies to differentiate Ethicon Surgical Care from the competition and driving business growth. This individual will lead the development of business solutions, value propositions and pricing/contracting strategy for a broad range of customers including target OOH surgeons. This position focuses on all touch points of the customer experience including clinical and non clinical interactions, product logistics, and customer service.

Given the rapidly changing external and internal environments, the Director will also be principle in the further evolution of the OOH Go To Market business models and in developing strategies to address this unique customer channel, while exploring different customer engagement approaches to improve our commercial execution and drive customer value.

Key Responsibilities Include: Lead the effort to capture market and customer needs, overall business analysis, tracking, and forecasting and identify key areas of opportunity for broader ESC portfolio. Lead all operational aspects of the OOH integration and capabilities build with cross-functional team. Develop robust ROI for OOH Business in order to build internal alignment /commitment and guide decision-making for shared resources. Work closely with the Marketing Solutions Group for all value proposition development. This individual will lead the development of all OOH marketing programs and ensure that they are delivered in a way which supports ETHICON Surgical Care brand and image. S/he will also develop and implement multi-faceted strategies in combination with internal Strategic Market Development, Distribution Services, Corporate Accounts/Offer Development and Sales partners and is responsible for working in close partnership to ensure successful integration. Intermediaries are critical for the OOH business unit and the Marketing Director will be responsible for capturing needs for Distributors, GPO's and Systems and insuring that strong value propositions, marketing materials, educational tools and strong messaging is in place for these intermediaries. The Marketing Director is also responsible for leading congress/society ownership and KOL development efforts which include identifying critical KOLs, congresses and societies, clarifying how best to leverage them and then defining specific programs for their and our involvement.

Qualifications


BS Degree (or equivalent degree) required, Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years business experience (sales/marketing/customer service) is required. A minimum 5 years customer engagement and/or industry experience required. Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing role is strongly preferred. Experience with supply chain, global brand management, influencing a Medical Device sales force and new product launch are preferred. Medical Device industry experience is strongly preferred. Ability to lead cross functional teams and influence across wide ranging audiences, with a proven ability to motivate successful teams and collaborate with the sales leadership organization is strongly preferred. This position requires up to 30% domestic travel.
