Role Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for achieving customer business plans/scorecard goals for relevant areas (e.g. Forecast, Trade Investment, POS & Brand/share growth) and assigned categories. The BDM achieves and maintains strong relationships at a Key Account & as part of J&J account team; develops Customer Business Plan for assigned business to deliver growth objectives; manages trade investment for assigned areas, achieving objectives and achieves safety objectives (SAFE fleet, lost workdays, ergonomics, etc.)

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for achieving Business Plans within the assigned account (based in Markham).

Responsible for the development of the Business Plans that reflect the strategies and objectives of the assigned categories

Responsible for, but are not limited to: managing trade investment to budget; new and base distribution; pricing; share goals; developing and executing promotional plan; understanding competitive marketplace; understanding of shelf management principles & merchandising objectives; working as a member of an account team

Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase sales productivity, while holding the customer accountable for their commitments.

Responsible for managing Trade investment in a responsible manner at the customer level and analyzes spending to improve ROI.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field

2-4 years prior Sales or BDM experience

Competency Requirements:

Ability to interpret and communicate complex business data is required

Working knowledge of syndicated data resources and financial/profitability metrics is required

Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively is required.

Ability to prioritize and to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities is required

Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships is required

Ability to work independently is required

Strong computer skills, including MS Office, sales database and web applications is required
