The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader provides leadership and direction to the end-to-end Neurosciences PMO unit of Program Management Leaders and Clinical Project Management Leaders. He/she serves as an active and engaged PMO leader on the PMO Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and together with the other PMO TA Leaders, is responsible for ensuring consistency across therapeutic areas regarding operational strategies, procedures, and guidance's.
The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader partners with the Neurosciences TA Strategic and Operational Support Leader (SOSL) in driving development of the end-to-end Therapeutic Area Strategy for individual compounds as well as the TA portfolio. Contributes strategic input to TA management reviews and serves as PMO representative to TA governance.
The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader coordinates the work of the Neurosciences PMO including but not limited to: program management strategies, end-to-end project execution, and project management deliverables by program, resourcing issue resolution, management reports, business plans. He/She partners with research and development functions to optimize integrated development plans/timelines, budgets, risk, revenue, etc. He/she assures that PMO principles are applied when aligning cross TA and with functions in the way we work.
The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader coordinates and provides PMO support to internal discovery and development teams as well as to External Innovation Teams, Business Development Teams, Integrative Solutions, Diagnostics and Biomarkers, co-development partnerships, and corporate/department initiatives as applicable. He/she provides consolidated program management support to the SOSL, team leaders, and other key stakeholders through governance committees and other key reviews, contributes to, and participates in senior management reviews. The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader ensures accuracy and consistency of data across reports/systems/databases.
The Senior Director, PMO Therapeutic Area Leader provides leadership and day-to-day line management of the Program Management Leaders, Clinical Project Management Leaders and other PMO roles (as applicable) in the Neurosciences PMO. He/she is responsible for development and training of employees to meet current and future business needs, provides an environment of trust and encourages engagement and open dialogue. Qualifications
The qualified candidate is a visionary leader with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels, positively impact productivity and business results and develop a future strategy. He/she will have had previous experience with people management and is passionate about developing employees. He/she has excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a change agent and adapt to rapidly changing organizational and business needs.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a Master's degree (or equivalent) with 15 years of post-graduate experience; at least 10 years in a pharmaceutical R&D setting or CRO, including a minimum of 5 years in project/portfolio/resource management. Expert knowledge of drug development process over the product life-cycle, from discovery to post marketing is required. Previous work in global matrix environment with cross-functional teams is required. Knowledge of the Neurosciences therapeutic area would be highly preferred.
This position will be based in Titusville, NJ or Beerse, Belgium and may require up to10% (Titusville-based) or 25% (Beerse-based) international and domestic travel.
